It just worked out this year that the girls' first day of school was also my first day with students. They woke up in the wee hours of the morning ready to go and excited to get this school year started. Because it was still dark outside when Chesney got on the bus, here's the best picture I have of Chesney that morning:
Kiah actually drove to school for the first time and so I got to take a picture of her outdoors. Because she's driving, she doesn't have to leave at o'dark thirty.
Chesney could ride to school with Kiah but she chose to ride the bus. Next year Kiah will be off to college and she's going to have to ride the bus anyway. That's her theory. I thought it was actually some good reasoning.
I wore my school t-shirt and jeans for the first day of school because of the great potential for body fluids when you're teaching 3 year olds who have never been away from their parents, so no pictures of me ready to go... but I did look super cute on the days when we had parent conferences.
After I got off work... and Brady got home from orientation from his new job... we were off to Applebee's for a celebration dinner. So happy Applebee's put a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup on their menu so we can eat there as a family. (It's hard having a vegetarian. Even the salads have bacon on them.)
After dinner we took a few photos outside just to commemorate the day:
