Last week, we played dog sitter for my parents. My parents have watched Hayden many times over the years for us (and will again in May) so it was only fair that we return the favor.
Early one morning, Sophie the fattest little dog in the Midwest came to spend the week with us.
The first night she was here, Dan said, "She's been sleeping in the living room all day. Just leave her bed out there, she'll be fine." He said this knowing full well that at home, Sophie sleeps in the living room during the day and then in my parents' room under a blanket at night. So we went to bed and ten minutes later, here's Sophie pacing our room. I ended up bringing her bed in and putting it next to Hayden's. They're getting married some day, you know.
Sophie brought her stuffed rat with her and appropriated Hayden's stuffed lamb, too.
We got in a pretty good groove. Brady and Ches took her on walks, something we're not used to doing, and she slept in Brady's room after that first night. On Friday, Brady sent me this photo of Soph sleeping in his room.
It was kind of fun being a two dog family for a little bit, but it wasn't enough fun that I'm all "Let's get another dog." I'm much more "Wow, we're so blessed that our dog is old and lazy and only needs to be put out a few times a day and hates walks."
P.S. What do I call Sophie? My Sister-Dog?
