I'm pretty sure I've never woke up at 4 am in February because I was hearing thunder. My brain did this whole... there's a thunderstorm (we had lightening, too)... but it's February... and it's snowing. This. Is. Freaky. Hayden really thought it was freaky and tried to burrow into the bed.
Blizzard of Oz. Snowpocalypse. Snowzilla. Call it what you want. What it is the second largest snowfall ever in our town. Since they started keeping records. Second largest.
I took this photo of the snow in our yard before the final band of snow came through:
Official was over 14" for the area. Everyone had a snow day. Dan stayed home (will work Saturday to make up for the day off). Brady's college and workplace were closed. No school for me or the girls.
And you know what? No school today either.
Love it. Love knowing I don't have to drive on slick roads. Love knowing we can just be warm and safe. (Sorry about that whole having to work thing, Dan.)
Late afternoon my kids went out to play in it. You'll only see Ches and Brady in these pictures. Kiah was out, too, but all my pictures came out blurry. Taking pictures while it's snowing is hard work. I got some good ones, but I got some really blurry ones, too. The camera kept wanting to focus on flakes and not people.
And some post snow hot chocolate...
