I am a two time loser at Project 365, Project Life, whatever you want to call it. I have tried. I kept up with it last year for a good six months.
And then I didn't.
The last six months of 2011 were not the best six months of my life. They weren't awful, I just wasn't having much fun and it was hard to try to take photos when I wasn't enjoying myself.
It's getting better. I swear exercise is what is pulling me out of my funk. I knew I needed it towards the end of 2011, but it was just too much for me to even think about getting off the sofa. On January 1, I said no more excuses.
And the colors are a little brighter. My heart feels a little lighter. I laugh.
I'm taking pictures.
Mostly using my iPhone. I do love that piece of technology.
So back towards the end of 2011, when I was starting to talk myself out of my funk, I read a great blog posts over at The Daily Digi. The life changing nugget in this article was the recommendation for the app Photo 365.
I am loving this app.
Every day at 6 pm, an alert goes off on my phone. Most days, I've already taken a photo or two so I just go in and assign a photo to that day. Some days I haven't and I scramble around to find something to snap. Or I do a self-portrait.
Life isn't always going to be exciting, but hopefully I can find something to make each photo unique.
Here's my calendar so far this year:
I love that at the end of the year, I can either scrap all those photos (I'm adding short captions to each picture) or I can just scrap my calendars. How fun!
So even if you aren't a scrapbooker, if you're got an iPhone, I highly recommend this app. It's an easy way to start to document your life, which I highly recommend. Get started today!
