In the last three or so months, I realized that I wasn't taking as many photos as I used to take. Quite simply, I didn't feel like dragging around my big camera (which while a point and shoot is a high end P&S and therefore is almost as big as a dSLR). I was taking quite a few photos with my iPhone, but I realized I needed a pocket sized camera for quick day trips... and for our upcoming Florida trip. Nothing that required a massive camera bag. Something small and easy to use, but with a great quality.
I follow Disney Tourist Blog faithfully. I love Tom Bricker's point of view in his photography and consider reading his blog wonderful eye candy for my Disney soul. So when I discovered he had some point and shoot recommendations, I (um, a little obsessively) noted down the models he recommended and took it everywhere me. Well, because I put the list on my iPhone.
For months, when we went somewhere with cameras, I'd pull out my list and check the sales against it. And back in November, while Dan and I were out Christmas shopping, we found a newer model of one of his recommendations, and the camera was even on sale.
So I unwrapped it Christmas morning and have been playing with it a little bit since then.
I got the Canon SX150IS. 12X optical zoom (because I love zoom). 14 Megapixels (I care less about megapixels). And I'm happy.
My favorite little feature? The fisheye effect. So fun.
I tried it out on our Christmas tree...
Hoping that this gift helps me take more photos in 2012. Sounds like a resolution...
