1st day of school
Today's our first day of school. The exhaustion of back to school set in last night. I came home from work and the kids wanted to go swimming. By the time we left the pool, I was having to really think about every movement I made. I was that tired. Then we had Mykiah's middle school orientation. Which went until almost past my bedtime. I think she's going to be OK, but her locker was sticking at the bottom and we couldn't get it open. I let the office know and they're going to fix it ASAP, but nothing more scary than your first day of middle school knowing your locker doesn't work.
I can't remember being this tired in recent years. Guess I'm getting old. Or maybe I'm working harder at this new job than I'm used to doing. Anyway, I'm excited about seeing kids in the building today. And I know my own kids are super excited about going back to school. We are just a family who loves school. Me? I'm also pretty excited knowing that I don't have to cook tonight. First day of school is the one day a year I never cook. This is my 11th first day of school as a teacher... and I'm excited for every one like it was my first.
So that's it for today. Not much. Zac Efron over there for Eye Candy. He kinda freaks me out (a little too metrosexual for me), but I loved him in Hairspray and we're having a big High School Musical 2 slumber party on Friday, so he seemed the logical choice. Have a great Wednesday. I'm going to try to get a freebie up tomorrow. If not then, for sure on Friday. See you then!
Hello.. I stumbled on to your blog from another site, but wanted to leave a comment. Good luck on the first day of school. Our's start's on the 27th. I too thought Zac Efron was great in hairspray, but my 9 year old is crazy about him, so that's all I hear from her.. Hope today goes great for you..
