Monday morning

And I'm still in my jammies. I see no need to change that, but I probably will at some point...

Saturday, we planned to take the kids to see Evan Almighty. But they didn't want to go. So we just stayed home all day. OK, we ran to the eye doctor to get Mykiah's glasses fixed. And bought some toothpaste at Walmart. But basically we stayed home and relaxed.

Yesterday morning, Dan and I dropped off the kids with my dad. They're going to stay with my parents this week and go to vacation bible school.

I'd say I miss them. And it would be the truth. It's very quiet around here. Just me and the dog. I suppose there are some cats here somewhere, but I haven't seen them. As soon as Dan left for work this morning, I turned off the TV and I have no intention of turning it back on all day. Just me, Photoshop Elements and quiet. That's my plan for today.

Bet you're wondering what Dan and I did yesterday with our adult time.

On the way home, we stopped and ate at Arby's. The service was incredibly slow, which irritated me. We've eaten at this Arby's many times and it's never busy. So yesterday it was and they couldn't handle it. We got our food, and it was OK, though, so I won't complain too much.

Decided to stop at home, check the movie schedules and then go see Ocean's Thirteen. I loved Ocean's Eleven, and though Ocean's Twelve was OK. And this was a good, solid movie. Still not as great as the first one, but not as bad as the second, either. Just a fun movie.

While we were watching it, Dan pointed out that in 10 years, we'll probably spend our Sunday afternoons at the movies because our kids will all be out of the house. That's a sad thought.

After the movie, neither of us really wanted to go back home. I'd get on the computer, he'd watch TV and it just seemed there should be something more to do when we didn't have the kids around.

We ended up going shopping, making a pretty big purchase and then spending the evening getting it all set up. It's not anything major fun, but it's something we needed. And I'm not going to say what it is because it's a suprise for one of the kids and I don't want them to know yet. Who knows... they might stumble across my blog while playing at Grandma's.

So our romantic dinner was chicken sandwiches and Frostys from Wendy's.

Plans for tonight are to go out to dinner... cuz it hardly seems worth the effort to just cook for 2 of us. I'm going to finish uploading our Disney photos and get them ordered. Plus enlargements for the frames we bought and some for my desk at work. Hoping I have a desk.

I'm going to get some more scrapping done, post an update on the trip report blog and read today. Finish doing laundry and change the sheets on Chesney's bed so that my sister can use it later this week. Maybe even take a nap, just cuz I can. And enjoy this very quiet Monday.
