Freebie Friday
Miss me this week? I feel like I spent the week buried under a mountain of photo editing. Crop here, sharpen there, run an action there....
In the end, over 600 photos from our Disney vacation to be printed. And I only have albums for 500. So still some narrowing to be done.
I have managed to scrap a total of 5 layouts this week. Three can't be shared yet, but I do so love the ones I can share.
Late last week, Kay Miller asked me to be on her creative team. I wasn't about to say no. I love Kay, have loved her almost since I began digi-scrapping. Her sense of color and fun has always drawn me into her kits. I was one of her original team members, then I took a break, then she took a break and now we're both busy again, and I'm happy we're together again! She is really putting out some amazing stuff.
Her latest kit is lovin' life and I just finished a layout with it and still feel like I could do another dozen with it. She also has fabulous templates in her store. If you're a quick page person, she's got tons and nothing is better than a Kay Miller layouts. She uses curves so well. I've always been jealous, but let's just keep that between you and me.
I can't use curves. I've just accepted the fact that when I scrap, I like straight lines, and blocks of pattern. When I was procrastinating this week, I took some of my older, most favorite layouts and made templates out of them. Like 50 templates. So now I'm set for scrapping for the next little bit, and I've got a nice supply of freebies for the next year or so.
For this week, I'm going to offer a template I originally did for Kay earlier this week. It's very me, and it's very simple, but using the template will help you save a bit of time. Here's the original layout I did:
This one uses Kay's Mixed Veggies kit. Then I used the same template, but flipped, to do this layout:
And here's the template preview:
And you can download it here. Have fun, scrap some stories!

Thank you so much for the great template. I love your "straight" lines. I think you did a great job of adding the curves to the second LO. Great job!!!

Ok, now you've done it! I liked your LO's so much that I had to go to Kay Miller's site and purchase Lovin' Life and another page kit (can't remember the name, but it's the sea/swimming one). Love her stuff! Can't wait to see what your talent and her creations produce. Congrats on making her CT! Oh, and thanks for the neat template, too.

Cool template. I've never tried one with so many different places to put paper. This should be fun.

I really love that second layout with you and Chesney. Cool stuff. Almost makes me want to try my hand at digi! :-D
Thanks for that template/sketch. If I ever get some layout mojo, I might give it a go!

Oh, I LOVE Kay's templates!!! I keep hoping some template designers will ask me to design with their stuff. LOL! I am TOTALLY addicted to them, and they really keep me going right now. You so deserve to be on her team... your layouts are always great! We are leaving for Disney in THREE days... and I am sure I will come home with a zillion pics too! So excited!! Thanks so much for leaving your templates on your blog for us late comers to get. I like the clean lines of your layouts so I can add my own embellishments.
