Wednesday Weebles
I have no idea what a weeble is (except they wobble and they don't fall down), but that's the kind of mood I'm in.
Bought Mykiah 2 new pairs of glasses on Monday. Hers totally fell apart on Friday, even though she takes wonderful care of them. So it was an emergency eye appointment for a new perscription and then a dash to the dispensary. Where I let the manager talk me into buying 2 pairs, since they just started a buy one, get one half off sale. And our vision insurance paid for the first pair. Dan, however, likes to point out that instead of paying $125 for the eye exam and 2 pairs of glasses (including magnetic sunglasses), I could have paid $50 and just got the one pair. He is such a downer. My mom, however, totally got it.
I went to the doctor for my annual exam yesterday. I hate doing it, but she holds my prescriptions hostage unless I go. So when I dressed for the day, I picked the lightest weight stuff in my closet. And I only had a small snack for lunch. And let me tell ya, when I stepped on that scale, it was a whole 50 pound notch below where it usually is. That had me smiling.
Yeah, I stopped at McD's and got a Big Mac on the way home.
I'm taking some new headache prevention meds. Since March, I've been dealing with almost daily headaches. I went through a similiar period about 4 years ago and was on headache prevention medications for over 2 years. Then last year, I was able to get off them. Unfortunately, I've had a rough Spring, and I've been fighting the headaches so much that it's beginning to affect my life. So I'm trying a new medication that will hopefully have good results. The plan is to get off them by the time school starts back up in the fall. If you're dealing with chronic headaches, keep track of how often you take pain reliever on a calendar. If it's getting to be several times a week (or a day), talk to your doctor. You don't have to suffer.
I set a goal for myself this month. As you can tell by looking at my sidebar, I read a lot of blogs each day. My goal for this month is to post a comment to at least one blog each day. Blog reading is sort of a passive experience for me. I like to read, love to catch up on what my internet friends are doing, but rarely take the time to stop and comment. But I really love to read comments here (cuz sometimes I feel like I'm talking to myself). So in that spirit, I'm going to try to leave a comment (or more) a day. If I like reading them, other people probably do too.
Yesterday, I bought Brady a Gatorade when his sisters were still at school. To repay me, I made him dial and vote for Blake from 8 pm until his bed time. Wasn't Bon Jovi night fun? Some bad, some good, but all fun. And Brady was my slave dialer for the night.
Finally, I thought that for the month of May, I'd feature my favorite TV franchise.
My current obsession of the CSI trio is CSI New York. That's my little DVR love affair right now. While Gary Sinise (one of my favorite actors ever) drew me into New York, I have to say my favorite Eye Candy on the show is Carmine Giovinazzo. I can't believe I have a thing for a guy named Carmine, but there it is. The more I watch him, the better he looks. And in trying to find a photo for my blog, I discovered that I'm not the only one who thinks so. There are some really rocking fan sites out there for Carmine.
Have a great Wednesday everyone, and check back tomorrow for a freebie!
Hi Friend! I think your idea to post a comment on blogs is a great one! I'll get us started. Of course, only one of us blogs every day. That other girl is so scattered with it! Loved Brady's story yesterday and I wish I had a phone slave sometimes too, just to hold the phone until a person answers. There are 17 days left, but who's counting? Happy Hump Day! Sharon

I like Gary Sinese too, but oh, Carmine is SO yummy! I loved Blake last night. I was LOL when Jordin gushed about how much her mom loved Bon Jovi, total ego boost! =)

I could have written that paragraph about CSI:NY. I, too, began watching it for Sinise, and I still like him quite a lot, but Carmine is definitely growing on me. When he does that little smirk thing (you know, the one that only New York born Italians can pull off), I can't help but sigh. LOL

Holy cow, what a deal! You buy your son one brightly colored beverage and he's dialing the phone all night! LOL

AAAHHH! I thought I was the only one with a secret little crush on Carmine. I love his character and he's such a hottie.
I'm a passive blog reader too so in honor of your mission, I'm commenting today. ;)
Oh, and I totally get your deal with the glasses. I had to go to Kohl's tonight because I had $50 in Kohl's cash burning a hole in my pocket. Don't ask how much I actually spent. ;)

Your deal re the dialing sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Wish I had a little slave dialer around my house to use for Dancing with the Stars!

Wow, Kim...I think that was the best Blog post I've read in a WHILE! I loved the line about buying a Big Mac, that was classic.
And just when I had stopped giggling about that one, I read the part about making Brady vote for Blake a gazmillion times. OH MY GOSH! I nearly fell out of my seat. I cannot decide which is funnier, that you just wrote it down like it was nothing, or the fact that you can buy your kid's vote for a mere Gatorade. Remind me to give him a call should I ever decide to go for the presidency. :-)
